Open-concept work can include load-bearing wall removal, temporary shoring, LVL or steel beam coordination, structural posts, permit drawings, ceiling repairs, HVAC rerouting, electrical changes, flooring continuity, drywall finishing, trim, lighting, and kitchen or island planning.
The best results come from solving structure and layout together. A larger opening is not automatically better if it leaves poor furniture placement, exposed posts in the wrong place, uneven flooring, or lighting that does not support the new room.
Finish and layout decisions are handled early: island size, dining clearance, traffic paths, cabinet runs, appliance locations, pot-light placement, flooring transitions, ceiling lines, and how the opened space connects to the rest of the home.
In older Toronto houses, this often means respecting narrow floor plates, brick party walls, older joists, radiator or duct runs, and exterior walls that were not designed for modern open living.
Openings in load-bearing walls need proper structural review. Andare coordinates the required engineer or permit professional so beam sizing, bearing points, posts, inspections, and enclosure details are resolved before demolition begins.
